Overview
Segment trim and Split work with videos created through extension-based recording, video uploads, and presentation-based recording. Select a segment, divide it into two with Split, or shorten it with Segment trim while reviewing scripts, durations, and Voice-over output.Split a segment
Select a segment, open the split configuration, choose the split point, and review the resulting segments and Voice-over.1
Open the split configuration
Select the segment you want to divide, then choose Split Segment from the segment controls or right-click the segment and choose Split from the pop-up menu. The split configuration opens.

Choose the split point
Adjust the slider to choose where the segment should split, then select Apply. The split point is set to the segment’s midpoint by default, and Apply divides the segment into two parts.

Review segments and Voice-over
Review the two segments in the Segment list and Script box, then edit the script and play the segments back. The script is automatically distributed according to each segment’s duration; if playback reveals Voice-over clipping or incomplete audio, regenerate the Voice-over. The split segments function like other project segments, their duration adjusts automatically when Voice-over is generated, and a segment with no script remains empty.
Trim a segment
Use Segment trim to shorten a segment by setting its start and end points; you can also use Split Segment and Trim Segment with videos that have no Voice-over by adding scripts manually and generating a Voice-over for each segment.1
Select the segment
Select the segment you want to shorten in the Segment list. The selected segment is ready for trimming.

Open the trim configuration
Select Trim Segment to open the trim configuration. The pop-up shows fields for the trim start and end points.

Set trim points and apply
Set the trim start and end points, then select Apply to perform the Trim. The segment reflects its new duration, and the overall video duration updates automatically.
