Visual effects in AI Studio are added as timeline layers with configurable start and end times — drop an effect at exactly the right moment in your video, set how long it lasts, and drag it anywhere on the timeline to reposition it. Effects can be stacked: a Spotlight and an Animated Text label can fire simultaneously, a Zoom can run beneath an Arrow, and a Motion Scene can transition into a Chapter Break. No specialist video editing experience required.

The Eight Effects

What it does: Zooms into any region of the screen from 1.5× to 4× magnification, with optional blur on the surrounding area to eliminate distractions.Settings:
  • Zoom area — click and drag on the video preview to define the region
  • Zoom level — 1.5× to 4×
  • Blur intensity — 0 (no blur) to 100% (heavy blur on surroundings)
  • Transition speed — Instant, Smooth, or Slow
Best for: Highlighting a small button, form field, or data point in a complex UI where the key action is easy to miss at full resolution.
What it does: Adds a circular or rectangular highlight that illuminates a specific area of the screen while dimming the rest — a theatre spotlight effect applied to your product UI.Settings:
  • Shape — Circle or Rectangle
  • Size — diameter or exact dimensions of the highlighted zone
  • Dim level — how dark the surrounding area becomes (0–90%)
  • Soft edge — toggle a gradual fade at the spotlight boundary
Best for: Drawing attention to a feature while keeping the surrounding context visible. Cleaner than Zoom & Blur when you want the viewer to see where the highlighted element sits in the interface.
What it does: Adds an animated arrow that points to a specific element on screen. The arrow can bounce, pulse, draw in, or hold static to match the energy of the moment.Settings:
  • Position — click the preview to set the arrow tip target
  • Direction — choose from 8 pre-set angles or draw a custom path
  • Animation style — Bounce, Pulse, Draw-in, or Static
  • Colour — defaults to your brand primary colour; fully customisable
  • Size — Small, Medium, or Large
Best for: Pointing to a navigation item, CTA button, or specific field when the voiceover alone isn’t enough to direct viewer attention precisely.
What it does: Places a static or animated image on top of the video at any position. Use it to add logos, callout badges, comparison screenshots, or diagram overlays.Settings:
  • Image source — upload a PNG, SVG, or GIF
  • Position — drag to place anywhere on the frame
  • Size — scale freely or lock the aspect ratio
  • Opacity — 0–100%
  • Animation — Fade In, Slide In (from any edge), or No animation
Best for: Adding a logo watermark, showing a before/after comparison overlay, or inserting a diagram that explains what is happening on screen.
What it does: Places a styled text label over the video at a defined position. Use it as a title card, callout annotation, or caption supplement up to 120 characters.Settings:
  • Text content — up to 120 characters
  • Position — drag to place; snapping guides appear for alignment
  • Style — Heading (large), Label (small pill), Caption (bottom bar)
  • Background — None, Filled, or Semi-transparent
  • Colour — text and background colour (defaults to Brand Kit colours)
  • Duration — how long the overlay stays visible
Best for: Labelling demo sections (“Step 1: Import your data”), adding context the voiceover doesn’t cover, or calling out a key metric or statistic.
What it does: Adds a dynamic text element with entrance and exit animations. Use it for eye-catching callouts, key statistics, and section transitions — up to 80 characters with per-word emphasis support.Settings:
  • Text content — up to 80 characters
  • Entrance animation — Typewriter, Fade Up, Bounce In, or Slide In
  • Exit animation — Fade Out, Slide Out, or Hold (stays on screen)
  • Font size — Small / Medium / Large / Custom (px)
  • Emphasis words — underline or colour individual words for stress
Best for: Highlighting a key stat (“450% more trial signups”), emphasising a feature benefit at a high-impact moment, or adding energy to a product launch announcement.
What it does: Adds animated graphic elements — icons, badges, and indicators — that appear in sync with your narration to reinforce the point visually.Available object types:
  • Checkmark (✓) — animates in with a draw stroke
  • Numbered badge — animated counter badge
  • Progress bar — fills from 0% to a defined value
  • Tick / Cross pair — ideal for feature comparison moments
  • Star rating — 1–5 stars that fill in sequence
  • Custom SVG — upload your own animated SVG asset
Best for: Feature comparison sections, demonstrating task completion states, highlighting metrics, or adding visual energy to key demo moments.
What it does: Adds full-screen branded motion sequences that structure your video as a professional production with a clear opening, chapter breaks, and a closing CTA. Brand Kit colours are applied automatically.Scene types:
  • Intro — 3–5 seconds; your logo, workspace name, and video title. Applied automatically when you use a template, or add it manually from the Effects panel.
  • Chapter Break — 1–2 seconds; an animated transition that marks the start of a new section. Add a chapter title to label the section clearly.
  • Outro — 4–6 seconds; your logo, a CTA text line (e.g. “Book a demo at demokraft.ai”), and optional social links.
Settings (all scene types):
  • Template style — matches your selected template, or choose any available style
  • Colour — overridden by Brand Kit colours automatically if configured
  • Text fields — edit title, subtitle, and CTA text directly
Best for: Any video longer than 3 minutes that benefits from clear structure. Required for onboarding playlists and customer training content where chapters aid navigation.

Managing Effects on the Timeline

Effects appear as coloured layers beneath the main video track in the timeline editor.
  • Reposition: drag an effect layer left or right to shift its timing.
  • Resize duration: drag the left or right edge of an effect layer to change how long it lasts.
  • Edit settings: click an effect layer to select it and adjust its properties in the right panel.
  • Remove: press Delete to remove a selected effect.
  • Undo: press Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Cmd+Z (Mac) to undo any change.
Stack Spotlight and Animated Text simultaneously to highlight a UI element and label it at the same time — one of the most effective combinations for directing viewer attention in a complex screen.
